anyone else have bad neighbours?

At my gf's house (where I spend most of my time) she has bad neighbours on both sides; on one side, two smackheads who argue and do small time drug dealing, on the other a 16 year old girl who acts like a 10 year old andsupposedly lives with her step father in the house, but he is never there, and we have fallen out with her recently lol.

We are probably gonna move because of it, it's only rented accomodation so no real commitment to it.

Not having your home as a peaceful enviroment to come back to is very stressful, anyone else in this situation/ever been in it?

I wish I was more attractive like Dagless.

Yeah, I know how you feel.

I'm staying at my byfs and his upstairs neighbours were so loud. I complained to them but the noise didn't stop.

Now they have moved out and it's the people through the wall that drives me nuts. Blaring their music early in the morn at the weekends & once again I complained!

Doesn't make any difference when you try to compromise with idiots!!

Totally agree. I lived in an environment for over 6 months where I couldn't relax in my own home. Very stressful and definitely needs sorting out as soon as possible to avoid a deterioration in your mental health.

Great neighbours on one side. Ok neighbours on the other....they're decent and considerate as neighbours but not someone you'd want to do business with unless you wanted to appear on Watchdog

Had problems with my neighbour letting their dogs s******* in my garden, but since one of my other neighbours phoned the departement of environement, no mess anymore

On the other side of my house, I have a neighbour who keep watering the grass of her garden, despite it rains at least 3 days/week in Ireland
This really annoys me as I can't stand people wasting water: can't wait untill 2007 when we'll get charge for water & everybody will have a water meter in their house

    Other than that, nothing bad...

I live in ana aartment and my fiancee and i have always been really considerate, with noise and parking. We only have one parking space and tell friends to park in the vistitors spaces, or on the road(its a private road) our neighbours however park in others spaces and let their friends do the same.

They have recently started being noisy too (above and belwo us). The guy above has loads of mates round and you can here his music, and the people below it would seem have just bought a karoke machine twice now they have coem home form a night out and started singing at the top of their voices at 2 o'clock in the morning. I will say something soon but i fell bad cos my partner and i are younger and don't want to seem like moaning old farts

    How was he then lol!

Mine are fine, except a couple over the road, shouting and arguing every other day and the fella just shouts at the top of his voice, banging the front door, smoking weed and doing nothing, they dont work either and its not like they do anything else. I dont even think their kids go school that often which is ashame.

The other guy two doors down from them just keeps asking me to buy Stone Island gear which he says, 'its good stuff and all' lol or Nike trainers.

Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame.

I too live in an apartment and the guy below is driving me completely round the bend

Thankfully its nothing too bad like smack heads, music on full chat till early hours or anything. The guy must be 30-35 and is constantly pissing about in his garage with some £800 piece of crap car thats now got a roll cage in, spot lights, etc and near enough every night him and some of his mates are in the garage revving this car up. This is around 8.30-9pm weekdays, he's at it from 9am weekends as well - sometimes the car is in the garage in which case the sound must be worse for the people who live across the road as it echos straight out the garage, other times its out in the street with the bonnet up 2 getting the sh1t revved out of it If it isnt his car its a trials bike or his road bike thats some yamaha trail bike thing that the cone head rides around the street stood up ??

I sound like a right moaning twat reading that back but its just gone on for too long now, coupled with the fact of him and his mates parking anywhere they fancy, blocking other peoples drives, i call home in the day to find someone parked abandoned their car on my drive and fcuked of out thinking im at work - one of the final straws was the other weekend, a nice sunday morning to be woken up at 8.50am by him and his arse clown mate revving a bloody jet ski up on a trailer out in the road, now jet ski's arent the quietest of things anyway let alone when there out of the water on a trailer.

I have sold up and am just waiting to get the completion date through from the solicitors, i think i have done well to avoid confrontation and leave that task to others in the street who i know are on the verge of giving him a good twatting, as it stands i have had no disagrements, arguements, formal complaints etc that were declared on the sellers info form i had to fill in and hopefully i can keep it that way till im long gone !

It's a majour problem in flats because the walls are often very thin, before i moved where i am now i used to live in a flat with my g/f and a woman lived above us and she did nothing but moan and bang on our ceiling at every little noise, the second night we were there she told us not to shut our doors because she can hear it and also moaned about us flushing our toilet and also said she could here me piss during the early hours. She also came down once and said to my g/f that i must be a good shag because she can hear everything lol now i'm not a noisey person really and never played loud music but you either get people that moan at every little noise or people that make a racket.

I find if I have any problems they are solved thus:

I pound on the wall until it sounds like I'm about to come through while shouting 'carry on C**T, I'm gonna rip you a new A** Hole'. This normally resolves any issues amicably .

I had noisey neighbours a while ago. They wasnt bad people... just very loud all the time with music blasting that you could hear half way down the street.
This is the reason I moved to a detached house and most the neighbours here are ok, keep to themselves!!!!!!!!

I have odd neighbours on 1 side and a OK neighbour on the other.

The odd people next door don't allow there kids to talk to people without permission. And they have NV on there gates and when we moved in they told us it has a double meaning... 1. the are called neil and veronica and 2. all the other neighbour NV (envy) them LOL!!! seriously that's what they think, weirdos.
They ignore you as well when walking past instead of just letting on, it makes you feel awkward.
All the other neighbours who have been here longer tell us they are a bit strange.

When I lived in Protsmouth my neighbours were complete tossers, but in my close now quite a few of the neighbours are retired couples so no problems at all.

Plus it's not a cheap place to live so people tend to be a bit more respectful of each other.

I live in a flat and dont actully have neighbours on each side as my block is a V shape so on 1 wall is a stairwell the other 3 is outside walls, and im top aswell so only people below.

sayingthat the place is solid as u like with concrete floors, can hear th eodd slamming door occasionally.

We did have some bad neighbours on the ground floor, some nutty girl, who used to know al the times asking to borrow stuff ?? wtf.

Scissors, a screwdriver ?? cant remember what else.

we were awoken as 12.30am on monday morning by her and her weird bloke having a massive barney, things being broken, thown, her shouting screaming etc, police were outside a few mornings too, next morning there was a broken window etc.

anyhoo, she moved out about a month or so bac, we got a letter saying she had been evicetd due to complaints and bad behiviour ! pmsl !

    all peaceful now.

My mate had the idea of gripfilling her front door lock, if she kept on lol.

I live in a council block in London so that says it all really. Bad neighbours on all sides. We sometimes get DIY on a Sunday, loud music, kids playing loudly inside and outside the building, drug dealers urinating all over (and worse), and then there's the area itself and chavs going round on loud mopeds til all hours. Stressful place.
