are 6 meals a day better then 3 big meals a day?

Hi i hear people saying i can grow on 3 meals a day but every where i look websites and articles they  say to eat 6 to 7 small meals a day.
 
 
So my question is, Am i putting my self at a disadvantage by eating 3 big meals a day compared to someone so eats 6 or 7 small meals a day?
 
will i see slower gains compared to the guy who eats 6 meals a day?
 
this is the diet im planning to do;
 
Meal 1)

4 wheetabix
40g protein powder in water
pint milk
Banana

Meal 2) 

half a chicken breast in 2 chicken sandwiches with brown bread with mayonnaise
pint milk
fruit

Meal 3)

Normal dinner- what ever is made
pint of milk
fruit

Before bed have another pint of milk.

    in that case it might be ok

    the main reason for eating 6 meals on a bulk is to enable you to eat a large amount of food in a day, but it is total daily intake that really matters

    you need vegetables in there and some healthy fats. maybe add some oily fish

    you have a lot of milk, change that for something else sometimes. you need variety in your diet

    try it for a while and see if you gain weight, if not, you need to eat more

    there is no real reason why unless very advanced 3 meals a day, if they provide everything you need wont provide gains.

    But, lots of people cant eat enough in 3 meals to grow properly, or even at all.

    the diet you have written out isnt great, and certainly isnt 3 big meals a day, just normal meals with some milk

    Macronutrient composition is whats most important and timings of those macros. 6 vs 3 is no different in the real world.

    easy enough way to improve the diet would be take the milk out lunch and tea, and instead use it along with some MRP poweder twice a day between meals 1 and 2 then again between 2 and 3. 

    change the milk before bed to cottage cheese and a couple of slices of granary bread, or a casein shake with some oats in it, or something similar.

    6 is better than 3 it's a proven fact. Maybe not for weight but for muscle it is, feeding the muscles 6 times a day is better than 3. (with the right calories)

    It is not a proven fact. Its internet nonsense that has been repeated verbatim through the ages with no real understanding behind it. Your body gets fed regardless of frequency if the macronutrients are the same.

    If you think its proven fact, show me the proof.

    It's proven that after so long from eating you move out of an anabolic state. So more regular feeding is better.

    Ok i think everyone is in agrement that 6 small meals a day is better then 3 meals a day, so im going to try and consume 6 small meals a day and i may bie a mrp for the off change i miss a meal or something
