ass in bar last night

right guys bare with me, went to a bar in town lastnight with a mate for a chat, while sat enjoying ourselves i notice this bloke sat across from me staring at me, so i look at him for a second then get back to my conversation, when i look up again there he is still staring at me, by now hes pissing me off so i stare back, after about 20 seconds he breaks it by pulling a stupid face, i think what a pudding, let it go and get back to my drink, i then hear him saying something to his mate about me being gay, lol which im not, by now im getting reved off the clock and i think to myself im gunna end up smashing this fool in in a second, he then gets up and walks off somewhere, on his way back he passes my table and without stopping just throughs this note at me which reads, IM NOT GAY. now this guys smaller than me, drunk and to be honest i would of just dropped him without a problem, but i though to myself nothing big in that realy is there, so i decided to rise above it and just let it go and said nothing. he left abit later and that was that, now when i look back at it i think i did the right thing, but part of me says that i should of just smashed him in for a min or two.

did i do the right thing or should i of had a go.

All the fun of the fair when i go out aint it

cheers guys

It sounds to me u did the right thing mate and it was probly cause he was jealous of you i remember where i used to work at a supermarket i used to get all these blokes staring like they wanted trouble i think thou it was because i would be standing there talkin with a few girls.

Well done mate for rising above it,it proves your a real man.I mean if i was 16 and someone did that to me there would be no doubting id smash his face in.But its nothing i do think we should only fight when we really have to like if someone is hurting a member of your family. But i can understand your frustration it must have been hard to control yourself but looking bk im sure u can see u did the rite thing.

Why would beating some guy up for such a silly antic be 'the right thing' - s'pose it got out of hand and one of you were killed or permenatly disfigured or injured....... just cos some half cut wally rubbed you up the wrong way

It's not so much that they nearly get in to fights, but that they haven't but aren't sure it was right not to have rucked

there's so many pr icks about these days, - what is it with people out on the town?

I reckon some people are so p1ssed off with their sad little lives that cause trouble just to vent their personal anger and frustration stemming from their sad little lives. Its almost always from blokes when they're with other male mates, - which leads me to think they're p1ssed off because they can't pull.

I love going out with a group of people, having a laugh and a few drinks, - most of the time though there's always some little pr1ck who spoils the night. The trick is not to let people like this get under your skin and ruin your night. Not a trick i'm particularly good at to be honest

This thread is funny, for the following reason:

    "Ass in bar last night"

Ass refers to the posterior. And the thread is about two guys meeting in a bar and definitely "not" being gay

In seriousness mate, someone who looks at you, pulls a funny face, and then gives you a note, sounds more like a student type than your local hard man. Or it's even possible he actually was gay. But these are not the actions of your typical fighter really, are they

Pointless getting into a fight with such a person

Even more pointless worrying about not getting into a fight afterwards!

    Probably what Id have done.

You would have been a fool to beat him up - you clump him, he falls, cracks his head, spends a few days in hospital, you face a GBH charge and get a 6 month stretch, lose your job etc etc - for what? 'Cos he was a tw*t and thought you were eyeing him up.

Id have just taken the p*ss a bit and left it
