IMO you'd be better to cut and use steroids to hold mass by limiting carb intake (but not killing it completely like atkins).
small complex carbs at breakfast
only fuit and veg in the day
small complex carbs before training
simple carbs post workout shake
complex carbs post post workout meal
With a refeed every week
That way, you're having limited carbs, but not stupidly low like atkins, and so cutting (providing calroie deficit right) and using steroids to hold muscle on a deficit.
