I don't know the exact words or the quote, but something like "doing the same thing over and over, getting the same results over and over, is the definition of insanity".
If nothing's working right now, there's something fundementally wrong. You could look at it this way:
How's your diet? Are you getting enough sleep? Post up your training plan. Have you recently started bricklaying, or doing other similar physical jobs? It could be burning more calories.
Also, you probably have weakened the muscle, but you shouldn't have weakend the potential to get stronger (ie. Not training hasn't given you the inability to get bigger/stronger, you've just lost some of what you previously gained)
