before you inject.......

......when you pull back on the syringe (aspiration?) to see if any blood comes in, what would happen if you saw some blood then just injected it anyway?

You would probably be injecting IV - which could result in death depending on amount / volume of oil used...

If you would inject anyway then why bother aspirating in the first place, pull out, re-jab and go again

what does IV stand for? you mean you would probably be injecting into a vein? would be unlikely to kill you though wouldnt it, unless less it was a main vein (LOL)? what else could happen, would it all swell up and become infected or something?

i never said that i've done it before i was just asking because a couple of times i have forgot to aspirate and was just wondering what could happen if it had of been in a place where there was blood.

Why would anyone want to inject into a place they have aspirated from and blood enters the syringe in the first place?

There is no 'what if' about it, you just dont bloody (pun intended!) do it!

i know exactly what im doing mate. i know that if you see blood you pull it out and use another site. i was just asking what 'would' happen if you just injected it regardless, i never said i was going to do it.

again, as i have already said, i didnt say i have done it, want to do it, or ever intend on doing it, i was just asking out of curiousity. why does everyone think im going to do it, it was just a simple question thats all?

i have just done an injection and its got me thinking. i jabbed the needle, aspirated, no blood so i injected. however, after i aspirated the needle it moved slightly as its hard to hold it still so couldnt i just end up injecting into a vein anyway? given the size of veins, surely it would be nearly impossible to inject in the exact same place as you aspirated and keep the needle there throughout the whole injection?

    can anyone explain?
