bench press lagging behind

I do a beginners full body workout once a week.
I'm pretty happy with my progress apart from my bench press. Finding it difficult to increase weight and feel like I've reached a maximum after only a short time with little increase in weight.
My arms do tend to shake around a lot as I lift the weight, could this be something lacking in my forearms ? My arms in general are pretty slim, could this be the problem ?
If so, which exercise should I add to my routine to combat this problem.

Sounds like your routine is the problem. Read my beginners sticky. Basically you can do the weakest of routines when you first start to lift but your gains will soon come crashing to a halt and you've wasted a lot of potential growth in the meantime. Read the sticky bro and it should get you on the right path. You'll find you are probably being let down by your shoulder and tricep strength as to why you are struggling with Bench..
