best advice pls for side delt slight tear?

Think I have a slight tear in my left side delt. Can do bent over reverse flies or front raises without much prob but it hurts when I do bench and kills when I do millitary press.

Took a week off and it got a little better - going light now as I've got a fornight hol very soon and will rest it again then.

Any ideas on treatment while on hol - should I ice pack it each day or something?

I want to get it fully better over that fortnight as I have BIG plans come September :-))))

ta,

KEEP YOUR DIET GOOD. EAT LOTS OF PORTEIN AND PLENTY OF CARBS FOR ENERGY AND YOU WON'T LOSE MUCH, IF ANY MUSCLE in two weeks or even three.

Take time out mate, it'll heal but it needs time. Rest, get out of the gym for two weeks, don't let it drag out. pick up in the gym when it's recovered. start light (15-20 reps set) for any excercises invloving your shoulder.

I've just recovered from the same. I had to stop training for 3 weeks in total. Keep your diet perfect and you'll be fine. Unfortunately I didn't take this advice and it's not all good.

Dwarf - did you ice yours? Someone advised me to put an ice pack (of peas, lol!) on it for 20 mins 3 times a day ...

No worries dude. Ice and anti inflamatories will ease the pain but won't necessarily help it recover, you want the blood flowing to the shoulder nicely to let it heal.

I used heat treatment when i first did it...then ice treatment after so many hours. ONly did that for a few days, then just starting stretching it.
