calsises(sp)

OK I recently have been getting back into the mix - and well . . . thursday I said to hell with it and went all out on deads to see whre I stood. Im not the type that likes to really max out because I think its for show so when I was doing my tripple ( intended for 5) I ripped the bloody hell out of my hands. My hands look like I have blisters, the kind you get when your feet hurt! On my left hand I ripped the skin right off and had smal streaks of blood.
-->Question. How am I going to fix this? I hate wearing gloves. I never started with them and I was allways trained to think gloves were bad. I know I could probably use straps till my hands healed again. or I could get told to back off on the weight and gradually work my way up. I dont want to do this though, its not me - i hate backing off and not going 100%. Maybe could I just tape where I ripped the skin off and try to push the other spots whre the blisters are? I use to have leather hands and could pick up anything. I hate how my strength is now going to be determined by the tensil str of my skin.
Any suggestions or tips yall can think of? for recovers - better dos and donts for future? anything - hell even doing some weird superstition...im lost

i have found white spirit hardens them up too. i have callouses on my hands from weights, rowing etc. anyway, they protect my hands but i used to find deadlifts rip them off sometimes. i have found the best way it so just wrap a thin towel around the bar only when doing deads, so u dont rip the callouses off! the towel also provides a bit of a grip challenge!

This game (whatever aspect you're into) does call for a certain degree of just putting your head down and getting on with it

I normally just peel the skin off then glue the surface and let it dry, but you could stick the skin back on if you want!

    white spirits=turps=paint thinner

Yep ive superglued them back in place.

You could try surgical spirit on your hands but ive found plenty of chalk while training + loads of grip work will soon toughen up the hands.

lol, sweet- people already give me looks when I pull out chains and rubber bands. I can add super glue and paint thinner to my gym bad with my coffee can of chalk.

the paint thinner... what does it do - kinda dry out your hands and make them tougher or is the residue that is left on, when dried form a protective layer? and Im going to super glue my hands tomorrow before i lift.

I heard that pissing on your hands in the shower makes them harder... never tried it myself but apparently works a charm.. If not put white spirit on there..
