hey, my plan was to do 5x12 squats every tuesday, thursday and sunday. After my first workout i couldnt walk for two days, so i am cutting down to 3x12. Make sure you do some cardio on your legs or you could end up huge on top with tiny legs, laughable. If i was you i would run twice a week so that it doesnt interfere with each other

not sure I understand. Cardio is going to do very little, if anything for packing mass onto your legs.

TheJones - I wouldn't recommend any cardio that involves your legs heavily until a day or so afterwards (certainly not on the same day) why not swim or row or something instead?

Some light cardio involving the legs can actually help with the DOMS.

2-3 days isn't that bad for doms, you'll soon get used to it and won't get them as much.

oh i definately agree, after your squats or a compound leg work out, do 2 mins of a medium paced walk on the treadmill, nothing faster or nothing too slow. afterwards stretch for a min or so, then do some isolation moves for the leg. i feel this works and reduces doms on my legs alot, just try it, its what i do and it works for me.

    thats my 2 centavos

    Forget the cardio.

If you've gone all out on the legs I can't see how you can get on a treadmill whilst walking like Donald Duck.

Ideally you should not do cardio straight after a weights session. Leave out about 3 hours imo.

I wouldn't recommend cardio after legs. The following article may help:

    240lbs @ 13% bf

    Squats -- 475lbs
Deadlifts -- Romanian DL (only ones I can do with an injured back) -- 150lbs dumbells
    Bench -- 325lbs
