cardio and legs issue.....advice please

I seem to have the same problem everytime I run and its getting annoying so I gotta figure out how to fix it. Everytime I run, when I hit the 1/2 mile mark or so, my quads and calve get tight and its almost like they weigh more and I exert more energy cuz of the way they feel, my stamina would let me go longer but I have to walk til they loosen up then I can run again and its a cycle til i get back home. Could it be my legs are too weak, bad shoes, 2 months ago I was leg pressing almost 800lbs but haven't done legs since so I was thinking my strength was an issue.....what do you guys think? Has anyone else experienced this before. Thank you for your help.

    Stretching afterwards would be of benefits too i believe.

    It doesn't sound like a stretching issue to me. Are you starting out too fast? You may be getting a quick buildup of lactic acid which will make your legs feel very heavy. Start slowly and see how you go. It takes time to build stamina.
