I typically do a fatburner cv session after weights, i warm up with a few rounds of skipping then do 30mins-1hour x-trainer and i burn anywhere from 500-1000 cals..I wouldn't say u would lose any muscle by doing that amount of cv, but for me that wouldn't be enough to keep the fat off at the min as my diet has been slacking with having flu.... BTW i think the thing that will hinder your muscle gains with cv linked to how high your heart rate is.. I.E the higher the heart rate the more the chance of loosing muscle..

i think your looking at working out at 50-60% of max heart rate for optimum fat loss without loosing muscle iirc lol

I do 40 mins monday to friday after weights and within the first 6 weeks i lost 14 pounds, as time has gone by its been a very slow steady weight loss, before hand my abs didnt show but they do now, i think if you start to feel tired you should adjust your diet and take in the right amount of protein so you dont lose any muscle, im weighing in at 82.5 kilos now and not looking bad for 48,
Although it is hard to bulk and lose at the same time without fine adjustment to your diet.

It means 50-60% max heart rate, if you go higher you are going into your anerobic (think i spelt that right) state then producing lactic acid the burn state, if you cart calculate that state by how your body works or feels wear an heart rate monitor,

What does you body burn of if you work like 20% of your heart beat, like say if your just walking normally? what will it burn? glycogen?

no not really. low intensity, like walking. what proportion of fat/glycogen etc would it burn off?

Very little, any type of excercise will burn fat but the higher the rate the quicker and more effective it becomes, its like a donut sitting on his or her ass all day eating and doing nothing what happens? the donut gets bigger,
Good diet proper excercise will get rid of fat unless you have gland trouble which effects metabolism then it becomes harder, eg thyroid problems can cause weight probs and make you feel slugish,
But it can still be done,

If i remember right, the way to calculate your max heart rate etc is:

220 - your age = max heart rate.

So, Im 27, and my max heart rate is 193 bpm

So if you wanted to work out at say, 60% of your max you would work it out like this:

    193 divided by 10 = 19.3 x 6 = 116 bpm

I am on a bulk and my cardio is three intense running sessions per week, which are about 6-7 miles in about 50 mins, sometimes is HIIT, or sometimesa is a steady run.

I have been off the gear for 2 yrs, last time i bulked i did next to no cardio and went fat as a pig, which is why I am keeping up my running.

Even a slower run would be ok, thats nearly a 7 min mile, if i run i would go for a 5 mile run at ten min mile, probably find you wud lose more fat and not create lactic acid,
Look at some of the top bodybuilders in the world, they do more cardio than ever , without feeding the the heart (the most vital muscle in the body) first how on earth are you gona deliver blood  to the muscle your training with weights,
