cauliflower ears

been doin mma for a few months now but my ears take all week to recover ..then i fight again...what to do and how long before they begin to look like the vegtables (cauliflowers)?

    It depends what sort of condition your ears are in exactly. If you are new to doing something that irritates the ears they will keep getting sore for the first month or two and then toughen up. If they are swollen you need to get them drained pretty much straight away or it is too late.

    i don't know anything about mma but I did play rugby for 20 years and know a thing or two about cauliflower ears. I got mine drained a few times after a knock. basically you need to go to the doc and he will stick a big needle in and draw out a load of blood/puss then pack them with cotton for a few days.

    However if you a doing a sport where your ears are getting rubbed they will eventually end up a bit cauliflower. I don't know what sort of protection you can wear in mma but if you can tape them or wear a headguard it is probably worth thinking about
