hey ppl, just wondered as i seem to concume rather a lot of the stuff, does sugar free chewing gum provide the body with calories?I mean ive lloked on the back of packets and it gives the usual nutritional facts per 100gram.It gives sumthing like 170 calories per 100grams consumed?Kinda unsure as to what this meant?Any 1 in the know, advise would be most gratefull

    Hi,

I wouldn't worry about calories from chewing gum - it's only going to be like 10 cals per stick/tablet so won't interfere with your diet.

When cutting, bulking etc sugar free chewging is completely fine!!!

I know that when you look at the back of even a pack of sugar free chewing gum it says something like 67g carbs per 100g. Dont worry about this, actually ignore it. The carbs found in sugar free gum are called polyols and are not digested.

No carbs digested - no problem. When Im cutting I cant do without my sugar free chewing gum!!!!!!!

Are you serious or ripping the p**s?
I ask because i chew a lot of gum lately and seem to have an upturn in the rate of Flatulence....could be related perhaps?

    lmao

he is probably serious. Some chewing gum actually says on the packet: over consumption may produce laxitive effects.

    ha ha ha ha

I will back that up actually about the wind problem, when in Ibiza last week i had a fair bit of chewing gum, and it didn't half interfere with that aspect of my body.

    Was farting like a trooper.

Its possible that swallowing air while chewing is a contributor.

no the actual flavouring from the gum does cause laxitive effects and makes me fart. Although thats after I have gotton through a packet in 1 afternoon. I just keep chewing it and as soon as the flavour wears off get a new piece
