cravings for Junk food.... help

Hi

felt like the past few weeks iv had cravings for crisps, choc, mcdonalds ect!!

i am not sure what has brought this on, I have recently cut a good amount of weight. I went from 15 stone 3 pounds, down to 14 stone! using alot of cardio and fat burners, and only having one cheat day a week. i dont want to lose any more weight.... and would happily gain a few pounds, but dont want to eat the food during the week, not on my cheat day, which will turn in to fat!!

what can people recommened when i want a snack and to get rid of my cravings ?!?

best things to snack on are nuts, taste great, are good for you and good in protein (i think, lol).

snack healthy, i make fish fingers in the oven and make a sandwhich out of them when i feel a bit peckish

Hmm yes tricky one this.  One of my big downfalls.  Do you think after doing a disciplined cut, psychologically you're craving all those foods you couldn't scoff when on a cut?  In which case maybe this will pass in a week or two.

Nuts are ok to snack on, healthy of course - but they are very high calorie.

Are you eating junk because you have a physical hunger or because of a craving?

how often are you eating/snacking.... if you are going too long between meals/snacks it will make the cravings much greater IME. many times cravings are just our bodies way of telling us it wants more food (energy)... but the brain translates that out to be be high calorie high fat. the body knows what foods put the energy (calories) in... and that is why we will crave these types of foods. healthy snacks between meals should help reduce this. after a while it also just gets easier, things like mcd's just taste less appealing. until then you also might find something like lifesavers or the likes... something that is sweet to the tongue but you don't eat alot of but it also will be in your mouth for a little while... gum can also help. but the healthy snacking is by far the of the greatest benefit for cutting the cravings in my personal experience... btw I was wrestler through college... so I have cut ALOT of weight in my time and these are tricks I've picked up along the way... hope it helps, good luck!!

    Keto (CKD) diet.
    Sugar free jelly.
    Appetite suppresants.

Combine the above three and you won't want to cheat.

I find junk cravings can be a response to steady weight loss, such as when you are on a cut. You initially start out fine but when your body fat levels begin to decrease beyond a certain point, it's your body's way of telling you to get more calories in.

The last few weeks of my cuts are always the hardest to abstain from temptation. Typically just before a beach holiday!

Like some of the guys have mentioned already, get some mixed nuts with raisins. Crunchy and sweet and good for you.

A packet on nuts and raisens can contain literally hundreds of calories so if weight-loss is your goal then this wouldn't be wise.

    Some alternatives...
    Sugar free jelly
    0% fat greek yogurt
    Biltong
    A protein shake!

Sugar free Jelly is a good one, as is sugarfree gum which has the added benefit of putting a mint taste in your mouth hence making things taste bad afterward.

Drinking water, or a chocolate or vanilla flavoured whey shake are also good for this.

Personally i've found the supplement Sida Cordifolia hugely helpful to reduce appetite/sweet cravings on my no carb days.

Argh im stuggling with this at the moment aswell.
I cant buy nuts as i will just end up eating the lot and my biggest craving is for spicy chilli nachos, so what i do now is just buy jars of jalapenos and literaly just munch the lot usualy drink the juice after aswell lol cant be good for me to drink the vinager can it?
Well wether it is or not it works, i think alot of the craving is the sensation of the crunch of the nachos but the burn of chillis cover for it nicely lol dont half rev up the metabolism aswell

*edit* im gonna try the jelly route aswell tomorrow :) used to love eating it straight from the box when i was little

I know the feeling! I try to dull the urge by feasting out on one bad meal weekly. The other day I completely destroyed Aroma (that Chinese buffet), it was awesome! Stacked up like 3 plates full of different meat, pork, chicken, beef. **** got real when I hit the dessert tray.

    Nom Nom Nom!

Eating good food is a necessity, the rest is temptation.
