crime to be nice

So I was sitting on a full bus with practically 30 people standing. I see a man in his 60s standing next to where I was sitting. So I get up to offer him a seat (as no one else did). He gets as*y with me as if he got offended.

Bloody hell it's a crime to be nice sometimes!

Rant over.

Haha you can't win, I only usually offer to those who literally struggle to stand, or if they are looking at me like they want the seat, I wouldn't offer it to healthy looking 60 odd year old personally! He was probably just a miserable git, best to keep your seat next time.

Public transport can be a pain in the arse for all sorts of reasons at the best of times.

If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

While there is a lot of rudeness about, with some people you just can't win. Some people just like problems.

Some weeks back there was a thing going around Facebook (and on here If I recall?) , where everyone is horrified that a pretty girl 'can't walk around without people harassing her", by saying things like "hello" etc.

That all died down, then a few weeks later, I'll be damned the same sources put up a video of a girl with a nice ass wearing nothing but body paint from the waist down - and this time there horror was due to the fact that no one noticed or said anything to her!

People are just idiots, no matter what you do someone or other will be pissed off by it, so just go with your instincts and if they don't like it, **** em I say.

Lazy is a word used by the obsessed, to describe those with a life.

The same happened to me as the OP. It was actually a lady on the tube it was in the morning rush hour they always get stuck, when I offered her my seat she asked me why? she was clearly ready to start some sort of feminism thing I didnt want to get involved I just said I just cant be bothered and sat back down.

I saw that as well Dr Z also to add to that the person that did spot the girl had nothing on in the end was a lady .

The proposed government changes to the firefighter pension mean that you could have been offering your seat to someone who potentially, whilst at work would be entering a burning building in breathing apparatus to save you and your family.

He's obviously having a hard time getting older. At least you were a bloke.
The day women start offering me their seat is the day i'll start walking everywhere.

A lot of people are serious problems dealing with the fact that they are old.  60 is the new 40 and all that.

But its not and 60 is old!

Don't give up your seat is the easy answer... Sometimes, it's better to put the blinkers on and say, "f**k it, I was here first so I got the seat fair and square"

There seems to be new "angry old people" movement, this was dicussed on Radio 4 yesterday.
I think that it was poor of him to react that way, I can imagine him moaning to his mates if no one had offered him a seat.
I would still do the same and just smile at them if they gave me a bad reaction.

I get a similar reaction when I hold doors open for women, I can`t help it, just the way I was brought up.

Ahaha.
I held a door a while back for a woman.
Her retort: "I'm not disabled, you know."

Well, fck off then.

I once saw a carrier bag split in a Tesco car park with all the contents spilling out. I ran over to help the young lady and she said "Get the f*** off my shopping!" I said "I'll help you carry it to your car". She scowled gravely at me and "You could be pinching my stuff for all I know! F*** off, you b***ard". What a polite young girl.

My step dad is 60 and he goes to big cycle events in Europe some over three hundred miles long, I've seen some of the routes he takes and the incline on some of the hills are insane even doing just one id probably drop down dead.

I know not every person 60+ is this fit, all my grandparents died in their late 60s and weren't particularly fit or healthy.

So I'd only give up my seat to someone who was about to fall down
