    No calories. Good part.
Full of unneeded chemicals. Bad part.

It's up to you, it won't do any damage unless your drinking up to say, 4 litres a day every day.

Its thought the artificial sweetners can effect insulin levels and thus cause fat storage hard to know for sure. Some are concerned about the artificial sweetner aspartme, i'm not TBH. A customer gave me a crate the other day, so I have been drinking a "share size" bottle a day for a few weeks now. Using the word "chemical" is kind of scaremongering, water is by definition a chemical.

Some artificial sweeteners are worse than others imo. Studies (maybe conflicting) show that at the end of the day a person trying to consume less calories by using AS would still consume them via other sources...so basically it wouldn't make a difference..and might even cause more weight gain in the end.

To be honest, just try to keep your AS consumption to a minimum and you should be ok. Some people have negative reactions with Aspartame in particular..like headaches, etc.

I used to drink alot of diet soda, but recently cut it out to see if it would help in my fat loss goals -- I must give it a definitive YES.

I am not sure if it has to do with the claim that any kind of sweet tasting soda, even diet, triggers one's urges for snacking on salty carbs, who knows what to believe these days.

But results speak for themselves, besides if you can wean urself off them it's better overall in other ways (teeth enamel, water retention, etc).

As a rule I dont drink much coke so a little of either diet or normal wont hurt. Drinking diet coke instead of beer on a night out has to be the better choice.

Interesting...why do you think that it has to be the better choice?
