diet during pct

hi guys,

i am coming to the end of a 4 month cut in which i have been on the ckd for the last 10 weeks or so, i have also been using anavar for 9 weeks and will be starting my pct on sunday. because i have been so carb restricted for so long i know i need to bring them in slowly. but as this is my first pct i was just wanting to know what my diet should be like to hold on to as much pf my gains as poss.  i am under the impression i want to be on a maintainence diet but would just like pointing in the right direction.

cheers

also, to save writing the whole post again in the training forum, should i carry on lifting heavy and doing cardio throughout pct or drop the cardio, or go a bit easier or what, i just want everything to be spot on so i keep everything i have gained. ( size and strength )

Your choice, there's arguments for both.

High fat can lead to increaed testosterone levels and other anabolic hormones helping recovery during PCT. Better/quicker recovery = better chance of holding onto gains. However...

High carb provides insulin which is very anabolic and anti-catabolic thus helping you hold onto gains.

So perhaps use a bit of both and introduce carbs slowly so and follow a diet that is high protein/medium carb/medium fat. The higher the cals the better chance of keeping gains but obviously the higher chance of fat gain.

Cardio should be limited as altho is can help with metabolism and keeping fat at bay it can become catabolic. Especially so during PCT as it can raise cortisol and induce overtraining. Both of which will be catabolic. So limit it in duration and amounts. Always eat before and after. Keep training as heavy as possible. Altho lower volume if volume is currently high.

alright lads,  can i just add to my previous post.

thanks all4n for the info was spot on,

anyway i have now done 15 days of pct, day 1 - 60mg . days 2 -11 - 40 mg and 3 days of 20.  i have just booked a hol and its in 3 weeks, i would still like to cut a little right up to when i go so could i lower the carbs again now or am i still in the zone where i risk my gains.  since starting pct i have gone down to 3 days per week and upped carbs in order to keep as much as poss. but with only 3 weeks left i would like to drop a few pounds.  so am i far enough into pct for my body to be normal enough to cut and keep as much muscle as poss.

    thanks

Keep protein high and calories aboutt maintenance. With lower training volumes and cortisol control agents you should not get fat.
