low/non fat milk is best. Milk has a lot of protein in it.

I have milk with all my shakes extra calories, 2 scoops  whey and half  a pint is about 500cals me thinks. Don't know if all that lactose is good for you though?

Yes providing you tolerate milk well then it's pretty good pwo. Whey and dextrose is good too. Some go as far as waxy maize starch and whey hydroslate (sp) which are the fastest absorbed carb and whey powders you can get,  but I personally dont think the differences are significant.

No biggie like, there are a lot worse things for you than using steroids, I mean I probably shouldn't have been smoking crack or getting into bar fights at your age TBH  - drab4

    3-4 grams per 100ml isn't really "a lot"
if using as a post workout drink you need about a litre of it. (just less than 2 pints)
i drink a fair bit of milk, but i think a quality whey protein is superior for post workout use.

milk is great any time!! I love the stuff!! however it will be difficult to take full advantage of the window you created PWO with milk alone... when I was training in Russia and didn't have the availability to whey at the time due to it's expense and difficulty to acquire... I made incredible gains and was stronger than I had ever been even after having been off gear for more than a year and a half... my diet consisted of lots of potatoes garlic onions some meat... cheese, lots of milk... approx 3 sometimes 4 liters a day and a farmers style soft cheese I would add to my milk to give it the extra protein... which I would eat PWO and usually first thing in the morning when the body can process the most protein.

whey is great... don't get me wrong... fast, easy, efficient!! but I don't like alot of the whey's that are on the market today, they make my system feel ****ty alot of the time!! but I never had a problem with milk, nor milk mixed with a soft cheese... made my drink taste like a yogurt milkshake.... which essentially it was!! however not everyone is blessed with the ability to process milk efficiently, I most fortunately CAN.

If you struggle to digest lots of milk, I find taking acidophilus capsules helps.. keep them in the fridge once opened though, to keep the bacteria in them fresh!
