extradition orders?

Any help appreciated here.

I have a friend who is Lithuanian who lives in the UK (all registered etc.).

He went on holiday to Spain last month and at the airport on the way home was arrested and then held in a Spanish jail. Now I have since found out he is wanted in Germany and the Spanish police or whoever are awaiting an extradition order from Germany.

Now what I am mainly wanting to know is what type of offences a country like Germany would think it worth getting an extradition order for someone over?

If anyone knowledgable can help it will be most appreciated.

Is your friend not forthcoming with why?

Or is he unsure as well?

    Do you trust him?

In theory the extradition agreement menas that a country can request a wanted person for just about any crime.

In reality i'm sure they wouldn't ask if someone was accused of speeding and not appearin in court etc.

But it all depends on individual countries.

In future be careful who you befriend.

I've not spoken to him, he is allowed one sixty second phone call a day, he has been in contact with his wife and is apparently in the dark about what it is all about.

I have no reason not to trust him, but have known him two years, first as a builder who did work for me, but know him pretty well now. This other friend who has known him a long time told me he has never mentioned any bad crimes or anything.
