finding money

i find lost wallets on my bus a lot and hand them in as well as all lost property cos its against the law for a driver not to.

But outside on the street is a diff matter, I once found a purse with no ID with £35,

sadly I spent it.

If u found cash on the street in a purse or wallet with no ID would u spend it too.

Yes id spend it. If it had ID however i'd take postage fee from it and mail it to the address(I.e. Driving licence).

Relax - spend it its no big deal. Noone is going to claim it - it'll end up going to the gov't (don't want that, do we?)

Maybe if you have a conscience then give it to charity or buy someone a present with it.

the purse i found was in blackpool on a bench.some guys and gilrs came up to me and asked me if i ve sat on a purse.

they looked about on and under the bench, nothing.

10 mins later i move away and feel a purse stuck between the slats of wood, its was the girls, no ID in it and she had gone.

I spent it on the pleasure beach and some beer, but felt a bit sad doing it.

I have found purses and wallets and handed them in as I would hate to lose one myself. I like to think there are still some good citizens in this country. I once went to the cash machine where someone had left their card in checked their balance and walked away, the options for withdrawing money were still valid.....I withdrew the card and tracked the person down to return it

try the old superglue a 50p piece to the high street

and watch folks bent down to "claim" it.

although I did hand in a set of car keys to police that were left hanging out the door of a alfa romeo sports car.
i got a call from an OAP saying I was her angel from god, for handing them in.

yeah if u found say a tenner in the street just lying there,

u cant hand it in to the police, its impossible to trace

.Imagine someone going to police and saying

" I dropped a tenner in the town, somewhere, yeah it has the queens head on it , it must be mine"

lol exactly. Same with the wallet thing...

"I lost my wallet, Whats it look like... Its black and leather" Oh which one? "well it had £2000 originally, maybe they stole some"

"ahh here it is, yes they took 1950 it seems ok cheers"

    NO Id... and its mine.

If I found money just lying there I'd spend it.
If I found a purse/wallet with money in it and no ID I'd spend it but feel a bit guilty.
If the purse had ID and it was obviously an older person with like a bus pass or something, I'd track them down and give it back and not spend the money because most old people I've met are nice. I like old people.
Scottishstu, I don't like this thread, I'm questioning my own morality and it's not very comfortable!!
