Apart from ego, maxes don't serve much of a purpose.

1 rep maxes or maximum effort on working sets of higher reps?

if its the latter, then yes as progressive overload wins for hypetrophy

train to bulk, diet and cardio to cut

shack-yeah mate i wouldnt say ive got a massive ego,but strength is the thing that motivates me tbh, then working towards a better looking body.im just cutting because the later stages of weight that i added was not anything like evenly spread-or training related.

tt-obviously youve read my other recent post here, the max effort is always attempted and i will be putting into action some of the suggestions in that thread.and yeah,1rm is what i was talking about, but if you think this would be overkill,i will give it a miss?

    cheers

if cutting i would trian to maintain the grow.

i would not do 1rm while cutting as it just dent your ego.

Though i would say your on a weight loss diet rather than a cut.
a cut to me is what some does in the final days of deiting to shed water etc. your more after a little fat loss than that.
