gotta love sky sports

an animated wicket and bat called willow and stumpy explaining through animation the laws of lbw

this is exactly why the beeb are losing all the sports - too busy spending our licence money on dancing and ice skating and horse riding

cant wait til the football season starts again - gray and tyler - another display of how inept the beeb and itvs coverage of the world cup was

Because of this I watched one england game with no sound on

I just cannot believe they got Gareth Southgate to commentate, i dont think he has ever commentated before, yet they stick him in to commentate on the World Cup.

And sky coverage is crap in comparison to channel 4 for cricket. Its boring. I think you'll also find that the beeb get the other sports because they can't afford the big sports like cricket, big rugby matches or football. The cricket had only stayed on terrestrial becuase it was on the protected lists of sports that had to be. When it was removed it was inevitable that it would be lost. Remember channel four is a commerical station, they can afford a lot more for the cricket that the BBC can and even they had no chance keeping the cricket.

But the beeb gets a hundred odd quid from each household every year which equates to a few billion, plus as the national broadcaster aren't they entitled to grants and other public spending? Lack of income is not to blame for the BBC's shortcomings in broadcast quality. If I had a choice I'd give up the BBC channels to have my TV licence money back. The only BBC channel that gets watched in my house is CBeebies anyway.
