    how does it fit into your overall diet? how many shakes a day will you be having and when?

    a simple wpc product will do for most people for use post-workout. can be bought in bulk from bulkpowders, bulk supplement direct, my protein etc

    or you could for a branded product like boditronics express whey, reflex instant whey, gaspari myofusion, optimum nutrition 100% (these arent strictly wpc's)

    whey protein isolate is for those carb conscious or lactose intolerant generally, with a higher rate of absorption than wpc.

    then there are blends like cnp propeptide, reflex peptide fusion, usn igf-1, phd 6-hour blend etc. which have different types of protein ie. whey protein, egg protein, milk protein etc.

    I'd agree with instant whey for a whey protein, doesn't need as much water and is guaranteed 80% protein, and mainly isolate - spot on!

    if you can stomach cottage cheese have that before as it takes longer to digest than your shake and you shouldnt feel as hungry when you wake up first thing in the morning

    Personally avoid Holland and Barratt whey.

    The only supp I think is needed by every bodybuilder is whey in water postworkout and for me most bodybuilders can do perfectly well with a concentrate - however more advanced bodybuilders will see a difference with an isolate.

    Just starting  - a concentrate that is just whey concentrate (no casein, or carbs or filler proteins like pea or soy) that you like the taste of is a good place to start.

    The bulk companies offer some great deals; personally I am a fan of chocolate mint, chocolate peanut butter, and chocolate orange flavours - :)

    id say go for reflex peptide fusion, it would be suitable for use after your workout as well as pre-bed.

    it tastes good and is a good price for a blend with an excellent profile. doesnt mix as well as other proteins but still definitely a great option and an important staple for me these days

    Yes blends are excellent - I just had some Nutrex ProGram for breakfast.

    What I am saying is, in terms of essential, what is actually needed only a pwo shake is something you "have" to include, which means whey is the only "supplement" you need.

    Personally I dont regard whey for pwo as a supplement, its like drinking water, eating meals;

    Other times of day, it is down to choice and constraints, but I encourage people to think food first
