hand grippers...

i want to buy a CoC or equivelant, what i am interested in is, which one to buy....

as they are £20 each i want to get the right one.

i can plate curl 10kg for 3x8
static hold 200kg for sets of 9seconds
and do about 300crushes on some fanny gripper from argos..

so would i need the trainer or CoC #1?

any advice appreciated.

forget the trainer mate. My money is on that you'll slam the #1 shut out of the packet, but it is still useful to have for things like strapholds and maybe if your left needs more work.

So i'd suggest: #1 and #2 either alone probably won't give you what you need from a crushing program.

Though those other things you mention do have some small bearing, it is largely the case that crushing grip strength can not be determined by your ability with static holds for instance.

John Brookfield set a series of home tests you can do to determine your crushing strength: -

COMPLETELY crushing each of the following is roughly equivalent to closing the corresponding gripper (according to Mr Brookfield, though he hasn't closed the #4 so there is some speculation clearly).
Crush these as you would a gripper, do not dig your fingers in.

    Gripper #1 = apple

Gripper #2 = bulb of garlic (not a clove!)

    Gripper #3 = raw potato

    Gripper #4 = walnut

Obviously there is natural variability in these items but they are merely an approximation.

So you could use this to help guide you toward the correct gripper or you could simply have some fun mashing stuff - up to you!

    Cheers

You go for it mate! But have you tried the apple and garlic yet?
If not then can you really say that you are truly worthy of the potato!
