having a week off ! good or bad ?

have been training hard for 2 month solid now in which time i have run an sd/lmg cycle with the heavy training. my question is does the forum think it is a good idea to have a weeks total break from training and diet every 2 months or so, so your body can recouperate or not ???

cheers

bad, just do some low weights and bang out a few high reps.

Hazard a touch of narcissism without shame.
There is no room for junk food in any diet whatsoever, leave the junk in the bin.

I take a week off every 3 months or so.It gives my body a chance to completely recover and I always feel better for it,and stronger.I am drug-free though and train hard and heavy every workout.

I took a week off a couple of weeks back and in my first week back hit a PB on BB rows,Incline db press and DB rows aswell! I`d say that was good.

I reckon it's a good idea in principle.I think I'm going to start taking more breaks from training, like a week every few months like Tat2shep says above. The past few years the only time off I've taken is when I go on holiday,so only a week or two a year.I'm 32,and I'm starting to feel I would benefit from an extra week off here and there. Not that 32 is old of course!

depends how you feel i tihink, if you get abit run down, alittle sore all over, or just mentally need the break, take it. In the long run i dont think it would have that big an impact.

I wouldn't have more than a week though. I just went away for 3 weeks.

Came back to the gym and decided to carry on where I left off with the same weights. Im in agony now
