help!!!!!

trying to do HIIT 3 times a week (before brekkie) and a 40 min fat burn session on Sunday. However, not too fussed on getting up at 6am to do cardio cos I can't seem to get to sleep past 10 pm so want as much sleep as poss for muscle growth (and also bottom of shins are hurting, though that may have to do with the winny affecting my joints). Would it make much difference if I did my HIIT after my weight training as I would also have access to a cross trainer/exercise bike in gym so the impact would be less than the HIIT I do in the morning (running). Any advice please?

i would never, ever do HIIT before breakfst, or after weights. and if you have shin splints, i would not do any running at all. swimm is your best bet.

Rob's bang on the money again! So mate two quickies, why not before brekkie (as this is supposedly the best time to burn fat)? and when would you do it in that case?

    Cheers

imo its just a very big myth...body fat will burn at any stage that their is a calorie deficiency- and first thing in the morning all your body is craving for is nutrients, your body is running on pure empty and is in a serious catabolic state with muscles at a low state of muscle glycogen- if you feel that you need to workout first thing in the morning then at least try to get a whey shake dowwn ya neck.

CV can be done at anytime, just prime your body for it first-get some fuel into your system so you have the energy to give it your best

bob, follow thai's advice to the letter. its good.

whey, water and fuel are what you need BEFORE cardio of any sort. a whey in water, a handfull of mixed nuts and 1 weetabix in milk are what i have before my HIIT sessions, and i sip powerade throughout.
