how often should i train grip?

at the moment i do grip work twice a week after weights and sometimes 3 times. would actually like to do more and was wondering if it is a good idea.

i do normal bar static holds, farmers walk, thick end of oly bar holds, plate curls and plate pinching. have been doing these for 4/5 weeks. i pick 2/3 exercises a session.

recovery seems fine so far. would it be wise for me to do some extra grip work on cardio days, e.g. i did back yesterday, got cardio today. grip work today?

cheers

    i do mine, 3days on/3days off:

    #1- plate curls [3x10] plate pinching [3x10sec]
    #2- lever work [3x2] gripper [5x2]
    #3- nail bending [5x1] farmers walk [2x2]

i try to split them up, morning and evening, but it rarely happens.

or is that what you are indicating by saying you do 3 days on then 3 days off?

Rob, your lever work, 3 sets of 2 reps is that..... I'm curious, I go higher on my reps for these and think I need to lower.

yeah, its 3sets of 2reps. this is going to sound very "cell-techy" but i have literally put on 1/2" on my forarms useing low rep lever work and p-curls in about 6-8weeks. not to mention being stronger. i would say levering is the best forarm mass builder out there, and heavyasfcuk low reps seem to do the .

Well if I need mass anywhere it's my damn forearms, my grip strength has improved no-end but still struggling to gain mass on the forearms...... time to lower the reps then!

helpful hint: pit your CoC's in a time-lock safe, for like, 3 weeks. concentrate on lever work, pinching, p-curls and bending and when you come back to them in three weeks, not only will you have progressed faster at all the other grip stuff [because you haven't been showing off to your mates and inadvertently fatiuging your muscles] but yu will actually be better at crushing them!!! thats what i found. my #2 is about 0.5-1mm away from shut now, it only took 3 weeks to go from 2cm til closed, to that. by NOT useing it at all!!
