i guess: Eye Fatigue?

For the past month more so than ever my eyes constantly feel drowsy, and i am blinking a hell of a lot and also squinting all the time if there's any kind of relatively bright light.. i'm a tad concerned.

i use a pc for about 12 hrs a day 5 days a week (sometimes more) and have done for about the last 5 years so wondering if it could be related?! have i done some kind of permanent damage? I'm aiming to go the opticians on friday..

all i can find on the net is dry eyes and it encourages you to blink more, but it's the opposite that im getting and no explanation of it as i can see it..

There is no hard evidence to prove that DSE causes eye damaging, however you will find that staring at a monitor can cuase your eyes to dry out more than usual.

yes there is evidence to say that using a DSE causes eye "damage"- although its not permenent or long term damaging. check out computer visio syndrome.

3 things m8- it could well be poor quality tears (your eyes are watering in response to this)

it could be that your suffering from glare onto your VDU . either window/light on your vdu or window into your eyes

it may also be that you need glasses although unlikely. using the pc wont suddenly make your eyes worse .

if you use a vdu more than 4 hours a day your entitled to free eye exam- have it done m8.

my guess is its a combo of 1 & 2

also take breaks from vdu every hour- i always tell my patients to make their collegues a cup of tea
