i just dont get it!!!

ok
i am 5' 10 and 12 stone and 19% body fat. i am quite trim except for a bit of fat on my belly and some 'luv handles'. When i put a tightish t shirt on you cant see i have a belly so its not that much. I realise i need to lose body fat to about 12%.
I want to build but lose this fat at the same time. I have been reading many posts that say you do one or the other, not both at the same time.
I am currently trying to hit about 2000-2300 calories a day, 200g protein and about 250 carbs. i train 3 times a week on weights and do 3 x 20 mins cardio on the other days
Without people thinking i am a perv , i have put a pic here of the type of body i am trying to achieve (this was the only pic i cud find quickly)

If anyone has any tips for me i wud be GREATLY appreciative.

mate you wont need to gain much muscle to look like freddie Ljungberg.
calories seem a bit low for muscle gain, but ive never tried to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, i dont know.
If i were you, id try to gain some more muscle for a while, then diet down, if thats the look you want. He doesnt look like he weighs more than 12 stone, imo, so if you up your current weight, gain some muscle, then diet off the fat, there you go.

    thanks for that mate
freddie was just to show ya the sort of thing i want to look like...ie, not massive. i do agree he looks a bit small wight wise. I am a bit bigger build than him, but ya get the idea.
so how long shud it take to bulk before i start to cut? I know its a 'how long is a peice of string' think but just roughly??
oh yeah, and how many calories, protein and carbs shud i be taking too??

Just try to eat clean, keep dedicated to weight training, drink
plenty of water, rest and body changes will come...especially as a newbie.
Then as you get more advanced you can look at putting on some
    muscle mass.

i think the bulking part of dieting is easy as hell. just eat clean like tbow said and eat alot. every 2 and half hours have a good meal with carb, protein, and fruit or veggie. do some cardio to burn some fat that you put on. when you try and do a clean cutting diet you wanna cry sometimes heh.

what kind of food do you categorize as clean? i've heard someone else say this before and i don't know what they mean? what are some foods that gave you good results?

clean foods are pretty much anything without too much saturated fat, sugars, etc....

my diet is a mixture of complex carbs, chicken, lean meat, fish, and good fat oils like olive oil.
