i need a lactose free bedtime protein

im lactose intolerant and need a protein blend for before bed which is lactose free ,does any one know of any brand or any ideas on what i could use instead.?ive always just had whey isolate before bed but realise casein would be better?

    Why not have a portion of fish and maybe some veg on the side instead?

    Or any other source of protein even.. with fats as well if that's the type of meal you're aiming for.

    hi,i have my last meal at 9pm ish then have whey immediately before bed but im really looking for a slow release protein to feed my muscles through the night as i belieive whey is to fastly absorbed

    Yes that is correct. A solid protein will take much much longer to digest in comparison to whey. Casein is also slow-digesting.

    Fats slow gastric emptying - so maybe adding an oil to the shake is the best option for you if you really want to have a liquid meal immediately before bed. Otherwise, you're fine with solid protein alone or with a source of fat as well.. and carbs if it fits in with the rest of the diet of course.

    Or a combination of say different lactose free powders?

    Whole food any day for me tbh....eggs are always good!
