if you had a million quid

What would you do if you had 1 million pounds??

I probably just sell the property I live in and add some extra cash in and buy a nice house up too 400k.

That will leave me with 800k.

Probably buy myself a range rover.

Then spend some money on buying a couple of restaurants/ take aways.

Then invest some in stocks n shares. Save the rest.

I'd put it in the bank and live off the interest, probably.

    Some extremely boring answers.

600k on a nice 2 bed flat in London.

100k to travel the world (not all at once).

100k towards a business I can live off with minimal work.

150k on luxuries, two nice motorbikes, a decent car, clothes etc.

    50k invested else where.

A Million does not go too far these days unfortunately. Living inside the M25 you would be hard pressed to find a nice 4 bed in a decent area for that much money.

Buy 1 place to live, 2 or 3 to rent out. Get a little treat but the man plus would be having a free income for as long as I needed from the rental properties, maybe off the back of them build up a small portfolio just to ensure relative comfort.

I built up to a paper profit of over half that ....

Facing a very large tax bill to cash in just before a new april tax year and a measley % interest from the banks influenced my desision not to sell at that point...

A really hard lesson was learned because that one failure to click the sell button and comit to paying the taxes in that tax year left me holding on to that portfolio and not adding the amount of banking shares i intended to at bargain price..( they went up 400% in the subsequent year and a half )

I will get there at some point, but its so flippin annoying to have made a bad desision that cost me making another good one and have been 2 clicks of a mouse away from.

Pay off my mortgage, pay off my parents' mortgage, buy 2 new cars (replace mine and one for the missus), pay for our wedding and a decent honeymoon, and then take 6 months out to go travelling and see everywhere I want to see before it gets even more spoilt. The rest in the bank, use the interest and save wisely - I don't want to be skint as a pensioner

As I am a boring person now I would buy my house on the Isle of Lewis and easily live comfortably.  And work my way up going on fast jets like a Hawker Hunter and work my way up to a Typhoon.

I would find an escort agency with the most crackinest looking burds and go through each one of them until I had mounted them all.

LOL - and that reminds me one of the reasons that I would never go near London with a barge pole! 600k for a flat!!!!! FLAMAO!!

Lol, what's wrong with our climate? we get to enjoy all four seasons in all their splendour. Waking up every day to 30 deg soon gets dull and bothersome.

Deffo not put it into a London property. Look outside the M25 for  start. Here... a million quid, or even 400k buys you a farm
