Hi, I'm sorry but I'm not educated enough on the diet side of things to be able to advise you on essential protein levels. Perhaps you should post your whole diet in the "Diet and Nutrition" forum? If you tell everyone what you eat and how you train, more knowledged people will be able to respond and help you.
I would personally say, to lose the stomach and 'man boobs', concentrate on cardio and forget about the weights for the time being. Again keep your protein intake reasonably high. Try make sure you have protein with every meal.
If you do your research you will find that simply 'starving' yourself is not the way at all. If there's a large drop in calories, your body make think Famine in which case, the majority of what you eat will go toward fat storage.
Just do plenty of cardio, and eat well. What and when to eat can be explained to you in the "diet and nutrition" forum.
