incline & flat bench press

is incline harder than flat bench press?
currently i do barbell incline and am progressing. will strength gains that i make be transferable to flat bench? what sort of differences do you have (if you have done them both) between the two?

incline - i should do 100kg 5x5 next week (did 97.5 kg this week)
flat - stopped at 103.5 kg 5x5.

cheers

Heh... sorry, I didn't think about checking in your journal. 90kg x5x5

You should be able to manage something like 115kg then, I expect. 112.5kg to be safe.

the difference is that incline press works more on your upper chest and flat works more on your middle chest. decline press works your lower chest more.
incline chest is much harder than flat! so you should be able to add more weight on your flat bench.

the two benches for me are extremely close in weight. incline is only a few reps away from beating my flat bench. incline is supposedly harder but i guess it depends on the person.
