journey to 227.5/137.5/250kg NOW WITH PICS FROM PAGE 6

THlast weds

getting back into it

light squat, belt

60x10
105x5
125x5
155x2
170x1, fairly easy, need to get speed back though.

sun, 24/7

bench assistance

dips,

2x3 bw
1x5+10kg
3x5+20kg, hard but ok. hope to really build up the tris

close grip bottom up bench press,

60kgx3
70kgx3
80kgx3
90kgx2, shouldve been three. surprisingly hard with no arch and strict close grip.

think i will concentrate on upping the poundages and doing only two movements, quick in and out, maybe ill do some bicep boy work after the benching, i think 100kgx3 close grip bottom up with no arch would be a good short term target.

havent been online for a while. training is ok, im not gaining that well, just maintaining. Think i need to cut out the drink/drug binges at the weekend, and drop cannabis from my diet.

Squatted 200kg raw, was ok, bit bent over but very deep.

deadlifted 200kgx3, again was quite comfortable- 205x3 soon.

    Today,

    Bench press,

    50kgx5
    70kgx5
    90kgx3
100kgx4, line was totally crap, lost it bigtime.

    Bottom up bench
    warmups
    80kgx5
    80kgx7
    90kgx3

    Lockouts,
    up to
    130kgx1
    140kgx1 missed

    pressdowns

nice one mate! 200 squat after a break is no mean feat mate.

Cannabis - i thought it cures all illnesses including cancer, HIV and premature ejaculation? Can't be bad for powerlifting then either

in the unequipped finals next year would be good. they are in june/july time.

207.5kg is my pb, but the 205 was way deeper, ( below comp regulation depth) and coming off a 3 rep pm!

any thoughts on how i should build up to it? 20k in a year seems acheivable.

20k more is easily achievable in less than a year. Looks like you are on the right track. I prefer a linear prgram in cycles no longer than 12 weeks personally....usually making gains each time...usually :)
I have found though that I typically make betters gains on either deads or squats, but not both at the same time....I may break that rule for my Feb 06 meet

weight is down to a 13stone 11, a 3 year low. waist is down almost 2 " though.

    Db bench press

    20kg, 2x5
    30kg 2x5
    37.5kgx5
40x xx absolute bollocks. have done 40x5 before. only thought is that i havent been eating enough and was worn out.

    Dips,

    bw x5
    +10k x 5
    +15k x 7
    +20k x 7
    +22.5kg x 6 PB

    Military press
    40x5
    50x5
60x5, last was a push press though.

so quite pissed off. weight is 13stone 11, very light for me, waist is down though. Think ive had enough of losing fat already lol.

    re-assessing diet, and training

got a weeks hol, then a weeks work exp, then back to Manchester. I peaked in strength around Easter, and i know why; i was 14stone 7-10. Gotta gain some good weight. Although i have been getting more pu55y looking leaner!

    Diet is my weak point.

    BFAST

Immediately on wake up, one sachet of MYOPLEX in skimmed milk
    4xwheetabix, with skimmed milk
tin of tuna on toast (2 slices)
    2x pieces of fruit

    Mid morning,
    2x chicken sandwhiches, (1.5 breast)
    1xfruit

    Lunch,
footlong subway if im out and about
    OR
chicken (1.5 breast) and pasta OR rice
    Salad

    Large whey shake

Immediately post training- never supplemented properly after training...This is key.

    40gs whey in water
    40gs malto-dextrin
    5gs glutamine
also a shot of CEE (3gs)

Maybe a protein flapjack, will have to see if this means too many Kcals.

    Evening meal

Extra large steak ( ie 16 oz plus)
    Rice or 3xwholemeal bread

    OR
large portion of lean steak mince ( chilli or spag bol)
    rice or spaghetti
    Salad

    Evening number two
    chicken pita (1.5 breast)
    toms
    onion
    salsa

    Pre bed
    Tin of tuna
    Large casein shake

    Good luck.

That is a lot of food. I could keep it down of course, but it's more than I eat. I think you'll end up about twenty stone if you eat that much. And you'd better be training really, really hard or else you'll be twenty stone of fat!

With the footlong Subway, when I used to get those I'd get double meat and eat one half and then eat the other about two hours later. THat counts as two sensibly-sized meals.

i'd honestly like to see you folow that eating programme for a good 4+ months to see what sort of gains you got weight and lift wise. I think there'd be a massive improvement, especially if you threw in 20g of creatine per day.

ill tell you what guys, ill try it for 6 weeks, CEE 5 g's a day, 4xweek training, heavy on the squats/bench/dead and more volumous on the assist. ill take pics before and after, and measure bodyfat before and after.

I'll cut the subway tho, for chicken and rice.

Ill report what can be done in six weeks, and Jonnymills can verify the gains i make.

Make sure you are drinking at least 5 litres of water a day (preferably more) or else your innards will pack up!

BB, lets throw in a friendly comp as well I will start my bulking up now as well for 6 weeks and see what happens. Aim is to hit 105, so thats about 3kg, so not a huge jump but it is getting hard to put on weight at this weight level! Lets also compare gains in totals in the end of the 6 week period?

I'll use creatine as well, and probably instead of using only 3g/day i will pump it up to 10-20g jonnymills style!
