hey dont know if i the right section but , iv beel falling way off my routine lately .

i work as a gas fitter , installing boilers and full systems with my mate and we have just started oin a council contract working on top floor ( 4 story flats ) :@ ! puttng in 10 rads anda boiler (some of the new rads are very heavy also 2  or 3 on the way of 65 kg not too bad if your doing a couple of yards but this bitch has to be carted up stairs ) and removing the old 10 rads an boiler. none stop for the fist 3 hoursin a morning all we do is run up and down 4 flights of 12 step stairs !!!!

im into my 4 th week and just cant hack the gym when i get in or any of my mma classess. im stillon a good diet and have lost weight in the last 2 weeks. ( i lost 3lb last week and 2lb this week).

i know there are plenty out there that probably work harder than me and i myself think i sound like a bit of a lil bitch  but i just cant hack a training session after getting up at 530 am and getting home a 5 pm .

does any one have any tips to amp me up on the drive home? on the odd occasion iv been in the last month iv felt great on the  after it , even more so after my grapping classes but its a serious battle to get offthe couch

i actually made the best gains and found it easier to stay motivated when i was a labourer on a building site, for me i found it best to realise that your work could count as part of a workout so all you had to do in the gym was top up (keep an eye on volume and decrease when needed), also if you did need to miss a workout it wasn't devastating

Stick to a reduced volume basic heavy compound routine imo. Low reps, 2-3 sets, 1-2 exercise for small body parts, 2-3 for large. Preworkout stims will help but will end up becoming a neccessity ime. Weekend training works well as you can eat/sleep better.

like lost said, basically working out all day all ways lifting and digging, works the whole body, just top up on the big 1s that can take it, chest and back, once a week going heavy is enough , cardio on sundays now mountain biking with the weather getting better, will do this more as low impact after hard day

Just suck it up and get on with it!
It is hard sometimes, especially when youv had a bitch of a day, been out in the cold in the middle of winter and are damp from the rain.
Sometimes I hop in the car and I think "fck the gym" because going home to a warm bath some hot food,  Call Of Duty and an early night seems much more apealing, but you just have to give yourself a good talking to, remind yourself why you are doing it, visualise your goals.
I train 5 days a week, I get the 2 biggest sessions out of the way at the weekend (back and legs), so only 3 small-ish sessions to get through in the week-shoulders, chest and arms.
I also find it helps to park up outside the gym and have a 15 minute nap before I go in...thats just me though, most people would probably find it ruins their will to train

View it as a challenge. There will be days when you need to back off and rest, earn these days. As others have said, jump on the caffeine train.

I work outside as a PE teacher for 10 hours, which involves a lot of running, jumping and demonstrating. Combine that with heat between 35-45 Celsius, and I feel your pain of feeling drained by the end of the day.

I drink around 4 cups of coffee spaced through the day
My training split is 5 days a week, 2 body parts at time and 2 exercises for each (<10 sets total) and <10 reps.

I am cutting so I normally have bigger eats on Saturday and Sunday and this gives me a good energy boost to start the week with. I normally hit the gym on Saturday too, to do a full body session or something, to make the most of the extra nutrients I will be getting in.

    Just suck it up mate.
I used to labour all day doors at night and fitted it in,currently work with travel 630-815/830 ,run another business on top its hard but has to be done
From 815pm gym mini primer workout half hour ohp,leg press, bench, row i set each and out then home kettlebell in garage then eat then do a hill walk and bed weekends full gym session and one day a week i finish at 2 do full gym workout and boxing and the hill

Started doing 100 press ups in the morning before i leave, same at arriving at work and ob everybreak and before bed

It always boils down to the pain of wanting to be in shape will be greater than the pain of the commitment required to achieve it

Everyone has been in shape, but not everyone is IN shape, its about where your going not where you have been.

Pack loads of food and don't go home after work, straight down the gym if you can help it. Or just get in grab you kit and go. Feet up on the sofa with a cuppa is your worst enemy!

I would say that plenty of food and some kind of stim supp (or natural booster like your favourite music before training) will be your friend

At least with manual work you don't have to bother with cardio! Think of that as a blessing lol
