Fewer reps will build less muscle.. of course you can still lose weight by employing either strategy as long as you're burning a deficit of calories each day.

nah i think fewer reps (with more weight) will build more muscle, it doesnt matter if your trying to lose or gain weight keep lifting heavy regardless and change the diet/ add cardio imo

if your wanting to loose weight i would suggest doing some cardio and having a good diet.
If your doing just heavy weights you are gradually going to turn the tissue into muscle and your weight will increase as a rule

Sure you can, and it is recommended since it will promote the body in keeping more of the muscle instead of breaking it down. I would also limit the number of exercises per body part. When there isn't enough muscle stimuli, the body always prefers to break down muscle before fat and tries to maintain an approx. ratio of muscle to fat.

Some people make the mistake of thinking high volume & increasing # of exercises per body part the way to go for lowering BF%, but it isn't. Doing too much, for example, 3-4 exercises for the same muscle group or doing 5+ sets of 15+ reps could increase the buildup of lactic acid in the muscle, which is catabolic.
