hi mate, ok so i know its not the advice your looking for specifically, but it sounds like your not fully decided about what you want your diet to achieve.
14 stone at 5'7 is quite alot of weight, but im presuming you are carrying a fair bit of fat?
it is possible to lose fat and gain muscle, but its not very efficient at either, better to concentrate on one goal at a time, and get the most out of it. by worrying about your weight dropping your going to struggle to achieve your goals in a reasonable amount of time
