maltodextrin

just in theory. is it ok to use maltodextrin through the day just to up the carbs and hence up the cals?

start - 8 stone 7 lbs
current - 10 stone 1 lb

    Yes it can be convenient. So can different fat sources.. like oils if you want it to be liquid. Just remember that taking in too much fat at once can make you feel a little nautious.

    Being a hard gainer malto or dextrose might help. However a low G.I source like oats would be a more nutritious option.

    i could try both, lol. do you think i'll get the shakes or anything having malto too often? i was thinking just a few servings a day. i dunno how it works. i was thinking about the whole blood sugar thing

    Its very high GI, and will have a similar impact on blood glucose and insulin secretion as the same amount of dextrose. Just depends on how you react to high G.I carbs

    Probably weight gainer shakes if anything, i wouldnt add it to normal meals.

    Just possibly bump the malto into some shakes Sabbath and drink during the day.

    Yes it's a sugar. It won't necessarily make you fat though. An excess of calories can make you fat. Basically, if the body is given extra calories it cannot use.. then it will have to 'store' them.

    yeah its very sweet though, 300 calories per 100g, i think i might try adding them to my shakes aswell

    Maltodextrin is a glucose polymer (dextrose molecules bonded in chains) of average seven molecules, making it an olgiosaccharide IIRC. It will contain approx 410Kcals per 100g.

    gonna take alot of malto to make me fat, man. lol.

    i should have the malto here tomorrow. was thinking of just mixing it in water a few times a day you know. or just bung it in with some milk/peanut butter etc
