Biceps and triceps done this morning. Making sure I really concentrated on form, theres no way I want an injury now!! Also made use of it being quiet in the gym and practiced a couple of poses in front of the mirror - trying to put into practice everything Im absorbing off the web at the moment. Must admit, felt a bit self conscious when a couple of women looked over and I was there with my shorts pulled right up to my crotch lol!!
Also did 40 mins cardio - audiobooks are my new best friend in the gym!

We do today what they wont - so tomorrow we accomplish what they cant!

Did legs today. Legs is usually a Monday, but theres a good chance tomorrow will be a late finish at work and really didnt want to compromise the workout.
Went really hard and heavy - it didnt help watching other gym members meeting up to get the minibus to tonights Pro show at the expo, that really frustrated me which added extra fuel to the workout!
No chance of cardio after it, I was walking like I was 5 minutes too late for a toilet visit!!

We do today what they wont - so tomorrow we accomplish what they cant!

Try get as much posing practice in as possible mate. The more you do the better you'll get at it. Is there anyone who competes in your gym that might give you a help with your posing?

Do you download the audiobooks mate?if so then any good sites?

I get them off Audible, I have a subscription on there - there are of course other less legal sites to get them from but I would never do that as that would make me a bad person!!

There are a couple of people at my gym I can speak to about posing, one guy Brian Skeete has won some Masters comps (you see him train and he has amazing bicep peaks) and also Carole Bennett 1986 Ms Britain Physique winner - she is amazing to watch train, she has such control and form. Its like watching a masterclass in lifting.
I shall approach them this week - whether either of them want to see me in my pants is another matter!! haha!

Cheers Mark. well I am a bad person so I shall go in search of aforementioned "other sites"

Make sure and ask them sooner rather than later. Also alot of youtube as arnie money suggested. I watch alot of routines on there before making up my own.

5:30am I was walking the streets doing cardio as directed! Haha, serves me right for seeking advice from someone that knows what they are doing, I would never have been mean to myself like that if I was still in charge!!

Dont worry Micky, I will do exactly as directed!!!
60 min cardio today at 6AM even though I am on holiday from work... must remember that dog walkers are out there and may not want to listen to me singing my head off as I go!
Chest today. Always worried about chest for the show as its my weakest body part when training. Since the fat has been going they seem to be 50% bigger! They arent any stronger lol, but at least Im finally looking like I have trained it!
I keep looking at the original pics I put on here from 2 weeks ago and I can see definite progress since then - I actually could do with getting a new pair of jeans at the weekend!

Alright mate. Just been having a read through your journal, very interesting.
I'm doing my first comp this year and training for it now too.
Best of luck with it all and hope you do well.

You'll need a few pairs of Jeans mate. I'm normally a 34 waist and when I diet down for a show I need to wear a belt on 32's.
As for your chest looking bigger, well you'll find you actually look bigger the leaner you get. except in clothes of course.

Shoulders tonight. Felt knackered before I went, had an unexpected call from a song publisher to go into a studio this afternoon to sing on a track he is pitching for a hollywood movie - I forgot how much it takes out of you (I say 'sing', but it was a Marilyn Manson style vocal he wanted just in case anyone thinks Im MT's answer to Gary Barlow!)

Still managed to hit all my reps, Im finding new levels of sheer bloody mindedness and stubbornness I didnt realise I had - I think I will be drawing on them quite a lot over the next few weeks!

Thats just it, Im feeling massively positive! I had been given all the warnings about how losing size or/and strength would do my head in - but in reality I get a huge rush of excitement every time I pass a mirror! Doing shoulders last night and I could see all the grooves in my delts, my traps were really pronounced.. and as for my stomach, I cant believe how quick its shrunk!

So yeah, right now Im feeling 100% about everything! So glad I made the choice to compete!

Great positivity mate! Your right about finding out so much about yourself the first time you prep. I find my body reacting in ways i didn't think it would!

Cardio was ace today, at 6:30 I was walking through a wooded area being watched by a huge group of deer! There you go, cutting for a comp makes you at one with nature!
Weight loss is on target despite only having moved to fasted AM cardio midway through this week - hopefully means even better next week!
Did biceps & triceps today. Love working triceps, but used to hate doing biceps. Really enjoyed it today though... haha, maybe it was because my cheat meal is tonight!!
