Its going alright now! I have turned my brain off, I was driving myself mad with worrying about this, worrying about that, over analysing everything. I was panicing about weight loss, but as Micky reminded me I have consistently lost 2.5lbs every week - so on those levels I was totally on target!
Its been a real personal revelation about my mind, my body and my training. Before doing this cut, I thought I was committed to training. Now I have learnt what real commitment is!
With the things I have learnt over the last 9 weeks about training and diet, I cant wait for the next year to come so I can compete next year at such a higher level. Dont get me wrong, when I wake up in the morning I look in the mirror and Im in  better condition than I ever have been in my life, but next year the starting base will be miles better than this year.
When I started the cut, people were saying figures of 2 - 2 1/2 stone needed to come off. I didnt think so..... well here I am, 34 1/2lbs lighter and I have been proved wrong! Im at 181 1/2lbs this morning and for the Classics I need to hit 172lbs. So thats 9 1/2 pounds in 4 weeks, so Im feeling confident about that!
The intention is the UKBFF in Hayes on the 12th June and the MT UKBFF in Bedford on the 26th - haha, thats unless no one else turns up to Hayes on the 12th and I get the Brits invite by default!!

Glad your head is in a better place... it' Micky's job to worry about the prep not you

Pot/Kettle/Black - you should have seen my wobbles on my first prep LOL!

It's such a journey of discovery and it's such an achievement to come out the other end.. and I have no doubt you'll do it. You're doing a great job getting your head down and you're in good hands

And though she be but little, she is fierce..

Completed an important piece of prep for my comp today - I bought some flip flops!
Realised at the Portsmouth show that I was missing that one vital piece of kit, but now I have them so everything else should fall into place!

Good to speak to you yesterday Micky.
New diet and adjustments to training all ready and in place!

Chest yesterday, superset isolation exercises. All as directed by Micky, then cardio and huuuuuuuuuuge abs session.

Tonight was shoulders, again supersets with more cardio and abs (is a grown man allowed to cry at the end of an abs session???)

Still doing the morning cardio with gusto - well, with commitment anyway. Gusto is hard to come by at 5:15am!!

2 lots of cardio today and more abs.
Got 3 separate comments that definition was really showing in the gym so that made me feel good! Must admit, I look in the mirror now and I think Im getting there - just need to shift whatever is slightly hiding my abs. I know they are, they have to be... if they arent, someone better photoshop me while I am onstage at the comp! lol!

Cheers, really pleased with this weeks progress! Just been practising posing in the mirror and (as people have told me will happen) there seems to have been a huge stepchange in condition over this week. Feeling really confident about hitting the target weight for Classics! 4 weeks out I felt down, soft and a bit defeated - 3 weeks out I feel tight, conditioned and massively positive!
Really excited about hitting everything 100% this week and seeing where I am next Saturday!

Arms yesterday. Really concentrating on reps and form, and really enjoyed it. The illusion of size is really happening - despite being 37lbs lighter than when I started the cut, my arms look bigger simply due to the separation and definition. Obviously the illusion is shattered when some 16st lump stands next to me lol, but Im keeping my mind on the fact that on stage everyone will be in the same weight / height ratio as me and thats what Im competing against, not the mass lumps in the gym!
Then it was more cardio.

Today has started with cardio and some posing practice making use of a pretty deserted gym!

We do today what they wont - so tomorrow we accomplish what they cant!

Backs and cardio tonight. I think the last week has been the big turning point for my conditioning, more people asked me about my cutting tonight than over the last 3 or 4 weeks!
Weigh in tomorrow, feeling good about it - the loss is visible in the mirror!

All good over the weekend, weight was good!
Then last night driving to the gym the front suspension collapsed on the car! Luckily I already had this week off work mainly to practice posing as much as possible, but now it looks like tomorrow (and hopefully ONLY tomorrow) will be spent trying to find somewhere who can fix it ASAP. My gym is 5 miles away so need the car to get there, especially now its only 2 weeks til the comp!

Huge change of plans guys.
Last night / this morning its been accepted that Im not on condition for June 12th. I will hit the weight limit for my height no problem, but the conditioning isnt there. I dont look 1 1/2 weeks out, being realistic I look 4 weeks out - maybe even a bit more.
I think I set myself too tight a target timewise by not really being aware of how much weight I would lose - I have so far cut 40lbs and in certain places the skin hasnt caught up with the fat loss and wont pull itself in over the next 10 days. I still think I could do with losing a few pounds more fat as well.
I knew I was never going to be the biggest guy on stage, but I wanted to be well conditioned. If I dont at least achieve that then I am selling myself and the people helping me short.
I am definitely going to be doing a comp still, theres no way I have done all this for nothing (Im not even going on holiday to make the most of the cut!!). Looking at the UKBFF site, the next option to me looks like the Dorchester comp on August 21st. This gives me 11 weeks to condition and practise posing - and as Micky will tell you, I am going to need ALL 11 weeks for the posing practice!

We do today what they wont - so tomorrow we accomplish what they cant!
