theres about 3 gyms in my town that are ladies only.

none that are men only.

i would like to have a gym thats men only, for their to be no distractions or guys who go just to lift big using shoddy form to impress a girl.

not saying woman cant/dont train with intensity but i find it distracting when im trying to focus solely on form when theres a leggy blonde next to me....

only men come to my gym, nothing to appeal to the women at all unless they are bodybuilders.
only one changing room so on second thoughts it would be quite interesting!

LOL , Seriously you are bang on about the Magazines !

Back in the day ..... we had a table full of MM2K , Flex , Musclemag etc and I don't recall ever seeing any of them laying around in the gym , EVER ! -These days there is a pile of womens mags first thing in the morning , and by mid afternoon they are scattered all over the gym - This situation is slowly getting under control , since I developed a magazine organisation system (i.e. if they are not on the table at the end of the day , they go in the bin )

But far worse than the mess, is the way some of the ladies lives revolve around these mags - the other day one of the girls came rushing in thrusting a magazne under our noses going "LOOK !! , LOOK !!" - the magazine had a picture of the lovely Fergie from Black eyed Peas , - "Yeah , great ! I like Fergie ...." I replied - to which I received an evil glare - "NO , LOOK AT THE ZOOMED IN BIT " she growled ...
I then noticed there was a (very) close up of Fergie's thigh , and you could just about make out some fat (or cellulite if you want)
"Oh yes , she has bodyfat " I replied ,( I had to stop myself pointing out that the lady herself had more fat on her little finger than Fergie has on her entire body .. )
"Yeah" said the lady "Looks terrible , doesn;t she ? " - with a grin from ear to ear

funny species women !

I love your gym stories !! more !!

And though she be but little, she is fierce..

Why not have a men only gym?!? Good idea. The women only room at Wolverhampton Fitness First really p1$$es me off.

Please excuse my rant, but I must continue......

They also have female cleaners working in the mens changing room when guys are showering and changing in there.

What's that all about?

What a stink would be kicked up by the ladies who train there if there were male cleaners performing the opposite role!

Totally agree, however it doesn't cost me anything to train there at the moment.

I'd never go to a male only gym, the hotties that go to my local gym provide me with extra motivation to get those last reps out on very tough sets. Especially things like Leg Press etc. which can be torturous when doing sets of 15-20 reps +.

Does a male only gym encourage more men to join?

Yes.

Muscleworks would be irrevocably disrupted if women were admitted entry.

All those birds tottering around in their heels, moaning about the lack of a thigh-adductor machine, stinking up the atmosphere with Fem-o-fresh Douche-Skoosh, doing their lippy in the mirrors, eyeing up the men, undressing them with their eyes, leering at their lunchboxes, gossiping about Posh-Spice, scoffing Slim-Fast bars, cluttering up the cardio area with copies of Heat and More magazine, demanding strange incineration machines for the toilet, calling for grunting noises to be banned, wanting Celine Dion CDs broadcast on the stereo, using fifteen rolls of toilet paper per visit, hanging their bags and coats on the squat-rack, playing Gala-Bingo on their laptops, etc. etc. etc.

It'd be fecking disaster.

The rest may be in jest but this has, as we know, actually happened.

Where I go there are only a handful of women, so it´s ok. Can´t stand the fitness centre gyms where there are too many girls. Why - like to be somewhere without feminine criticism, expressed or suppressed, of me training in my fav muscle vest, allowed to grunt and even utter the odd expletive if it helps me on. And I HATE the smell of perfume in a gym....

Mixed all the way. I'd feel wrong about a "men only" gym. It would be roughly the same as a "whites only" one, to be honest.

You're not naked, you're not required to be in close proximity with each other or even to speak to one another. If using an exersize bike 30 seconds after a member of the opposite sex has used it makes you feel uneasy, then it's an analyst you need, not a personal trainer.

Please don't take what I say too literally. I'm a clown, when it's all said and done. Sometimes I say things with my tongue in my cheek to make people laugh, but please rest assured I am not laughing at *you*!

My response would be "Well, I'm a chubby-chaser so this does rather give me the horn. Excuse while I go and.... read the article..... in the gents..."

Ought to shut her up. I have to say I DO like my ladies on the curvy side, no Fergie isn't exactly my sort. Although the OTHER fergie held a certain appeal when I was a teenager - although saying so is probably high-treason or something.

Please don't take what I say too literally. I'm a clown, when it's all said and done. Sometimes I say things with my tongue in my cheek to make people laugh, but please rest assured I am not laughing at *you*!

A men only gym reminds me of the episode of the TV series Game On,where Matthew goes to 'Big Bods',a gym full of gay men.

My gym is a mixed one.I go in the morning and there are only a handfull of other people there. And they are mainly women. But i only train for fitness so i don't worry about women hogging the weight machine etc..
