more rest or less rest

was performing pull ups today 3 sets wide followed by 3 sets close grip. on my first 2 sets wide grip i got 10 reps from each set the third i got about 8 then close grip went 7 reps,5 reps 5 reps. i know its inevitable that u start to fatigue as you get the onset of lactic acid however my question is this is it better to take more increased rest between sets so u can fufill the pretty much the same amount of reps each set or just continue rest at the same pace and just rep till faliure even if it is only like 5 reps. thus less rest and only get 5 reps or more rest and get 9/10 reps?

and finaly if choose to do one or the other either same amount of rest or more rest is it building muscle differently e.g more rest = strength/bulking and, same amount of rest between sets = ripped/vascularity

No need to post the same thing twice in two different forums mate; to answer the question, I would rather weight the extra few seconds and get my reps, however I know there are others who would disagree. At the end of the day, I don't think it particularly matters what the total number of reps you did in a workout was, as long as you stressed the muscle sufficiently for growth.

    Current training: 6-day split
Current cycle: Test E @ 500mg per week

    Current stats:
    Height : 192cm
    Weight : 272lbs
    Body Fat : 15.4%

yer i had put in under the training correctly forum first then i saw this one which looks more relavant for my question.

i guess its easier to stress the muscle more when u have less rest then as u start to hit that pain barrier much earlier like 3rd 4th rep.
