It's my birthday next month and was planning to get inked but now that I've started training I'm worried about the effects muscle growth will have on the tat. You have to look hard to find any muscle on me at the moment and I'm concerned that any significant muscle gains will distort the tat. What do you guys think? Should I wait a bit or is it not an issue?

I had a tattoo done on my arm elbow to shoulder when i was 18 - i am 27 now and i have grown from 12 stone then to 16 stone at my heaviest, back down to 11.5 stone and now back up to 13.5 stone.....the tattoo still looks the same.

This is a tribal piece though, so not sure if it would be ok if it had a lot of detail in it.. Will find out when i get my coi done and go on another bulker i guess lol.

    Sweet pic TT.

I start on 4th Aug wrist to elbow with similar - Do you know if it makes a difference what way the koi is swimming ? ie is swimming down towards the wrist considered unlucky etc ( which is the way i want it)

Mine is going to be on the inner forearm with some cherry blossom etc, formong part of a jap style lower sleeve - hoping to fit a dragon in sweeping down and semi around the outer forearm if there's enough room, again heading down the arm towards the wrist.

How many hours have you spent on that one piece so far mate ?

im told koi goes upwards, i would also not want too much detail on my wrist as there isnt much space
i have the cherry blossoms on the other side and they are going bright red and the rest black and shaded

so far 6 and a bit hours i have had - 4-5 left i think

    i have about 10 others

got a bit of space round the back for lilly stuff and some scrolling jap stuff i have planned

Looks nice mate, do like that.

Gonna get mine added too soon, have tribal design on right bicep down to elbow, want to get it up over shoulder and onto the back.

I currently have 5, agree they are addictive little f**kers
