my cars just been bricked

arrrgh

we was on our way home from a BBQ and seen a young lad getting a kicking so my GF stopped to see was he ok, and not too damaged.

then some of the other group walk back and kick off with me... there was a few of them so I go back and get my mate.
we drive back and the car gets bricked... couldn't catch the lads who did it, chased them across a park.
they just been back to apologise to my mate and I had gone by then.

now I've got a damaged front near side wing and a damaged near side door all trying to do the right thing.
gutted.

wish I'd made my GF just drive past and let the lad get the sh!t kicked out of him, were never gonna see any cash to sort our damage out.
well p!ssed off.

This would be my own reaction. Run them over. Lets see them outrun a car.

    Really am gutted.
Just had an argument with the GF for her stopping now and she's stormed off to bed.

I feel sooo rotten right now, it was a nice relaxing night till some guy has to go and get beat up in front of our eyes
    Maybe he deserved it
... why did we have to get involved

Mate, thats not good but look on the brighter side...you and your gf still have full health and werent hurt. It could have been a lot worse, a window can be fixed...what if the silly chav smashed the window with a brick and it shattered in your face and eyes?

Agree with BritBB and don't be mad at your g/f she obviously has a caring nature and was concerned about the guy. Maybe the right thing to do was walk away from the guys having a go at you rather than coming back with your mate, unless I've misunderstood what you meant.

The right thing up to the point where you went back with your mate. No one needed help then you just wanted to get them back. There's been both joke and serious threads on similar topics and more often than not it gets out of hand.

Who knows, he might have deserved or he might not. The thing is, you stepped in and as we are now in 2006, you could have potentially saved it from getting worse considering the knife culture amoungst youths these days. I mean kids are dying from punches yet alone stabbings or shootings.

Still though, the fact is your car got bricked, whether you did the wrong thing or not, its still got to be paid for and that freaking sucks. Karma my friend, perhaps when they get a car, itll magically have loads of problems with its servicing and stuff, never know!

john mate, you dont have the best of luck with your cars - i too would be gutted if someone bricked the car - last yeas someone scrawled 'i suck cock' on the side door of our car - in an alan partridge style (scratched down to metal) not good.

your own money down the drain mate.

I know exactly how you feel, I have a big dent on the side of my car because someone dented it while the car was parked at the gym.

    Yeah your right kitty...
But the thing is I am only human myself and I have my faults, one of them being I have never been able to turn and run.
When they kick off with me it sort of makes it now "my" problem. Some people can turn the other cheek others can not will not.
It's a differant state of mind to my normal un-provoked state and go into a differant mode.
Telling me not to go back now is differant from telling me not to go back at the time.

It like it's easy to get the game show questions right sat at home, but when your in the thick of it it's differant.

i have to agree with mobster - you stopped and saved the guy - good thing, going back to get your mate because they kicked off with you - bad thing - and it was the bad thing not the good thing that led to your car being bricked
