need shorts

not the smallest of people (but not the biggest!).
lost near on 8" from waist (im now 42" waist) and im in need of shorts for the gym. not wanting short things, im looking for longer ones (still above the knee tho, so like bermuda shorts / surf shorts length) that i can wear to the gym.

now my ass is still rather large, and my thighs have never been small, so would be good if the shorts were also available in 44" just incase (ive got 2 pairs of trousers that fit my waist but are tight around the thighs at 42" :/ ).

any ideas?

not quite sure what your asking for?!

personally i wouldn;t wear nice shorts at the gy, they are just gonna get messed up- dirt, sweat, split from heavy squatting, snagged on weights etc

cant u just get 44inch shorts with elasticated waist, not too long cos your just gonna get hot, but not too short, few inches above the knee IMO

im asking for 44" shorts that i can wear to the gym that arent to short but not too long........ which cannot be found.
i could order some from ebay.com and get some american to send them over, but would prefer to be able to actually try some on as the americans description for sizes suck tbh.

im not specifically after board shorts, not willing to pay that sort of money for shorts which will (as you said) get ruined. just that sort of size is what is needed. length and baggy (tho not ott).

Try mountainbike shorts they are made with a big arse so they are comfortable when sitting down and they usually come down to just above the knee.

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=8882

Also I had to buy them two sizes smaller to get the waist to fit as they are designed to go over body armour. I was a 34" jean size and the shorts are 30".

And they still fit even though they are now three sizes smaller than my jeans addmitidly they are very snug around the waist but they have got some elastic for give.

They are expensive but extremely durable.

I hav'nt got these so I dont know what the fit is like but they come in a bigger size.

thats another thought, tho again finding half about loose jogging bottoms is also quite hard in my size!
bought a pair from tescos (of all places) that fit perfect, but cant find any more XXL!! otherwise id have them and cut em :/

mate try mountaneering stores, i just bought a pair for general use, they come with button and elasticated waist lines and also with cord belts. Im sure they had larger sizes mate. Worth a look. Mine are by columbia and available at graham tiso, blacks etc....

or utility shorts, i have just goggled 'shorts 44" waist uk' and found these for example
