newbie here

hey guys

im new to the body building world and the reason i find myself here is that i just turned 21 a week ago and i looked at myself and didnt like what i saw. i way about 238 pounds if i worked it our right im about 6 foot 1 or 2, i have one of those gyms that uses your own body mass and i do enjoy using, i have started to see a small change in my arms over the 2 weeks i have started doing it. but what im here for is to ask for advice on what food and other stuff i should be taking to help my body oh and i have quite smoking like 3 days ago.

i have been told that when i work out i should give my body a day after to heal is that right. Any advice would be to great use thxs for your time guys

The speciffic body part may take up too a week to heal but as far as should you workout another body part the next day is up to you and how you feel. As a beginner I would advise a day between exercises but as you progress you will know what works for you best.

how does he have 0 posts...

anyways, if you want you can post up your current diet (what you would normally eat in a day) including the times you eat them at, and we can take it from there...

next we have to sort you out a training routine...

as you are a beginner i suggest a 3day split with higher reps so that you can start getting used to form and all that...what equipment do you have access to and when..? and also, you might need to add some cardio or HIIT, to help you out...

    0 posts.. hmm thats weird.
Its good for you to make a split routine. But as a beginner you can work ALL your muscles, but do it only 3 days a week with a rest day in between each. A couple months later, make a 2 day split routine like- Day1:Chest and back. Day2: Arms and shoulders. You can do these consequetive days, but with a rest day atfer every 2 days.
About your diet. Make it a habit to read the nutritional facts on the food you are buying.
Ur diets and workout routine depends on your goals. So let us know what exactly you looking for (example gain muscle.. or cut fat).

blitzseth said it right about the first three months. i started at the bottom. for the first three months, you could work body parts three times a week. anything after this will probably be overworking. i would train chest and triceps together. i worked each body part three times a week for a long time and that wasn't the best of ideas. i severly overtrained each body part.
