newbie playing with routines
Hey, I've been lurking a while and thought Id post.
Im been training with good programs from this site for about 9 months (made good gains with Frankies 5x5 and variations). I recently started with Big Al's mass routine but decided it was too inflexible and that I was gaining a little too much mass.
Im now looking for a routine that would focus more on strength and power than mass, and would be flexible enough to deal with my inconsistant schedual of traveling and sports.
Frankies 2nd routine looked pretty good, however I was thinking of altering it slightly as follows for a more power base:
Squat 3x5 with a set of 10 bodyweight jump squats after each set
Barbell row 3x5
Hammer curl or cg chin 3x5
Weighted crunch 3x10
Barebell bench press 3x5 with a set of 10 clapping pushups after each set
Military press 3x5
Wide grip pullup 3x5
Hanging leg lifts 3x10
2 or 3 times week, with cadio 3 or 4 days a week on off days. 2 warmup sets before each movement.
