no such thing as too much protein ??

I'm trying to lose fat (with lots of cardio) as well as build muscle.
Am I right in thinking however much protein I eat, its impossible for the body to turn any of it into fat ? If so, does any protein that isn't metabolised "pass straight through" the body, so to speak ?

no thats wrong. if you eat loads of food, you will put on some fat and you will waste a lot of it too, some will be used for energy, and some for farts. this would be better in the D+N forum, this is for beginners, but this is also a training forum

Protein contains calories just as carbs and fat do. Calories are the dietary unit of energy. Excess energy (above what you burn) will be stored as fat.

A lot of people think this but its not true. Protein is broken down into building blocks known as peptides. Then into amino acids. the body then uses them as needed and excess amino acids are converted to fats and sugars and are stored in your fat cells just like carbs and fats.
