hi everyone,

i would like to compete in a novice comp. just wondering if anyone knows if of any coming up in the next few months?

    EVENTS LIST

    Tyre Flip
    To be flipped as many times as possible,
    Length of course 100ft.
    Time/Distance.

    Dead Lift Hold
    Weight 100/150KG
    To be held, as long as possible.
    Timed event.

    Farmers Walk
    Length of course 100ft,
    65kg each.
    Time/Distance

    Coniens Walk
    Weight 100kg
    Bar to be lifted with weights. To complete as many circles as possible.

    Barrel Carry
    Possible 4-5 barrels of different sizes to be carried over a course of 25 metres long, then lifted on to 5ft platform
    Weights vary
    Timed

    i will be running this comp suitable for novices i have a few places left for grabs prize money for top 3.

    4 events
    drag 2 sleepers 20m run back drag log 20m (all with handles

    one arm dumbell press 1 rep with 40k 45k 50k 55k 60k dumbell fastest time

    deadlift thick bar 4oolb one rep
    normal bar 5oolb one rep
    trap bar 550lb as many reps in remaining time (75 secs)

    last event will be a medley carry drag or load type thing

    Provisional Date: Sunday 23rd October.

    Bexhill-On-Sea.

    "Showlifting" is a popular contest format in Scandinavia that is now being introduced to England for the first time. Athletes enter each event seperately, and prizes are awarded for the first 3 in each event. Competitors can choose to enter as many, or as few, events as they like. It is a great format for people to set new personal bests, or try out different events! For competitors that choose to enter all the events, there will be a prize awarded to the best overall lifter in each weight class, as well as the prizes for each event.

    The classes are:

    Women
    Men Under 105kg
    Men over 105kg.

    The diciplines are:

    Maximum Log
    Competitors select their weights, and have 3 attempts.

    Maximum Deadlift
    Competitors select thier weights and have 3 attempts. Women will deadlift from the floor on a standard deadlift bar. Men will use "Cage Deadlift" setup.

    Crucifix Hold.
    Women - 5kg per hand, under 105kg men - 10kg per hand, Heavyweight men - 12.5kg per hand.

    Sack Loading.
    Take a number of sandbags from a platform, and carry and load them onto a second platform approx 10m away.
    Women - 4x50kg sandbags.
    Under 105kg - 1x50kg sandbags, 3x75kg Sandbag, 1x100kg sandbag.
    Heavyweight Men - 4x75kg sandbags, 1x100kg sandbag.

    Fishing Pole Lift!!
    More info and pictures to follow - A real test of leg and lower back strength!

    Come on lads i did a 400 mile round trip to do White cliff's Dale must have done around 600 mike round trip.

    Have car will travel.
